The Karnataka Branch of IAOH was started in 1950 with Major L. R. Sharma as Founding President. Some of the founder members of the Association were Dr. M. N. Mahadevan, Dr. B. J. Magdum, Dr. M. Shivaram, Dr. Govindaswamy, and Dr. Kothanda Rao.
The Karnataka Branch is the second largest branch in the country with 360 Members. The branch was formally registered on 14th March 2008 under the Karnataka Societies Registration Act, 1960 as "Association of Occupational Health Karnataka" (GDN-S256-2007-08).
AOHK has a separate Memorandum of Association, Rules & Bye-laws based on the constitution of IAOH. The AOHK Office was inaugurated on 19‑11‑2003 at API Bhavan, Ground Floor, 16-F, Miller Tank Bed Area, Vasantha Nagar, Bangalore – 560002.
Every year AOHK organises an Annual State Conference and celebrates Occupational Health Day on July 9th, along with scientific meetings, lectures, seminars, and research awards.

Karnataka Branch of IAOH formed
The Karnataka Branch was established under Major L. R. Sharma as Founding President. Founder members included Dr. M. N. Mahadevan, Dr. B. J. Magdum, Dr. M. Shivaram, Dr. Govindaswamy, and Dr. Kothanda Rao — making Karnataka one of the earliest IAOH branches in the country.
AOHK Office at API Bhavan Inaugurated
On 19th November 2003, the Association inaugurated its dedicated office at API Bhavan, Ground Floor, 16-F, Miller Tank Bed Area, Vasantha Nagar, Bangalore – 560002 — providing AOHK with a permanent base for its activities.
Registered under Karnataka Societies Act
On 14th March 2008, the Association was formally registered as "Association of Occupational Health Karnataka" under the Karnataka Societies Registration Act, 1960 (Registration No. GDN-S256-2007-08), giving the organisation independent legal standing.
Income Tax Exemption obtained
On 9th June 2009, AOHK obtained IT Exemption under the Income Tax Act, recognising it as a charitable organisation and facilitating greater financial transparency for the Association.
AOHK Website Inaugurated
On 20th July 2013, the AOHK website was officially launched, enabling the Association to extend its reach and connect with members, professionals, and the public across Karnataka and beyond.
AOHK Office at API Bhavan
AOHK Registration Certificate
On 14th March 2008, the Association was formally registered as “Association of Occupational Health Karnataka” under the Karnataka Societies Registration Act, 1960 (Karnataka Act 17 of 1960).
The certificate was issued by the Office of the Registrar of Societies, Gandhinagar, affirming AOHK’s independent legal status and enabling the organisation to function with a clear constitutional and governance framework.
